Service Development Engineer (Android) - Recipe Business

Job Description

We are seeking an Android Engineer who can help lead our team and services with cutting-edge technology to make everyday cooking fun for people around the world.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop the Android application and related features
  • Design APIs and architecture based on requirements
  • Lead the technical direction of projects or support other engineers
  • Improve the development environment to enable fast development and deployment

Qualifications

  • Experience developing Android applications
  • Ability to support the growth and development of the wider team
  • Experience leading development as a team leader (teams of 3+ people)
  • Experience and skill in designing appropriate architectures considering requirements and maintainability
  • Ability to stay current with the latest technologies and apply them effectively
  • Basic ability to communicate in Japanese (within the team), and willingness to learn the language

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading technical architecture or organizational initiatives (Tech Lead/CTO-like role)
  • Contributions to open source software or active involvement in developer communities
  • Experience speaking at conferences or academic events
  • Knowledge or experience in developing multilingual or multi-region services
  • Basic knowledge and development experience in web applications, databases, or infrastructure
