Job Description

As an iOS engineer, you will help lead our development team to make everyday cooking fun for people around the world. This role involves building products for a large, global user base, tackling unique technical challenges, and shaping the future of cooking-related digital experiences.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Developing the iOS application and related features
• Designing APIs and architecture based on requirements
• Leading the technical direction of projects or supporting other engineers
• Improving the development environment for faster development and deployment

Challenges You’ll Tackle

• Accelerating service improvements and new feature development for a global audience
• Maintaining development infrastructure following platform unification and removing technical debt
• Rebuilding the global development organization, including integration with members across different countries

Qualifications

Required

• Experience in developing iOS applications
• Ability and experience to support the growth and development of the wider team
• Experience leading a team of three or more people in development projects
• Ability to design appropriate architectures with consideration for requirements and maintainability
• Up-to-date knowledge of the latest technologies, with the ability to apply them appropriately
• Basic communication ability in Japanese within the team (and willingness to learn more)

Preferred

• Experience leading technical architecture or organizational initiatives as a Tech Lead or similar
• Contribution to open-source software or active involvement in developer communities
• Experience presenting at conferences or academic events
• Knowledge or experience developing multilingual or multi-region services
• Basic experience with web applications, databases, or infrastructure
