Product Overview
In Japan, a significant economic loss is projected due to delays in digital transformation (DX), with a current shortage of 430,000 personnel necessary for promoting DX.
Product
Our flagship product, "exaBase DX Assessment & Learning," supports Japanese companies in promoting DX and developing DX talent through assessments. It has been in use for approximately five years, helping over 1,900 companies and 260,000 individuals.
Responsibilities
As a Tech Lead, you will:
- Lead technology decision-making and architecture in an expanding service and organization.
- Establish technical strategies aligned with business objectives, providing technical leadership.
- Manage a self-sufficient agile development team utilizing the Scrum framework.
- Support team members' performance and growth, while adjusting resources as necessary.
- Decompose tasks and assign appropriate members based on their technical growth.
Technology Stack
- Backend: Kotlin / Javalin
- Frontend: React / Recoil
- Others: RDS, Docker, Nomad, Terraform, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jira, Cypress (E2E testing)
Development Structure
- Teams of engineers and product managers focus on various feature developments, operating under a framework aimed at Scrum with one-week sprints.
- The majority of development team members are based overseas; however, all business communication occurs in Japanese.
- Flexible working styles are encouraged, with in-office work once a week.
Experience Gained Through the Role

Qualifications
- Over 3 years of web application development experience.
- Experience in technology selection and implementation.
- Extensive knowledge of cloud infrastructure and databases.
- Fluent business communication skills in Japanese (e.g., JLPT N1 level or equivalent work experience).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in startups.
- Experience in leading development projects.
- Proven record in operating and scaling services.
- Achievements in competitive programming (AtCoder: Blue or higher).
- Familiarity with modern languages/frameworks (e.g., Golang, Java, Kotlin).
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Salary
- Annual Salary: 8.04 million yen to 13.08 million yen
- Monthly Salary: 1/12 of the annual salary
- Minimum: 670,000 yen (Base pay: 495,680 yen, Fixed overtime pay for 45 hours: 174,320 yen)
- Maximum: 1.09 million yen (Base pay: 806,470 yen, Fixed overtime pay for 45 hours: 283,530 yen)
Additional overtime compensation applies for work beyond 45 hours. The salary will be determined based on experience and abilities, following company regulations.
