Job Overview

We are seeking new colleagues to help us realize new services and businesses aimed at solving social issues.

Product Overview

In Japan, where the decline in the productive labor population is progressing, it is predicted that an economic loss of 12 trillion yen per year will occur due to delays in digital transformation (DX), with a noted shortage of 430,000 personnel needed to promote DX.

"exaBase DX Assessment & Learning" is our product that supports the promotion of DX and development of DX talent for Japanese companies by diagnosing the skills and orientations necessary for digital innovators. This product provides comprehensive support for client companies' development, placement, and recruitment activities. It has been utilized by over 1,900 companies and 260,000 individuals since its release.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of "exaBase DX Assessment & Learning" by making key decisions and solving problems related to overall product development.
  • Make decisions on technology selection and architecture in a rapidly expanding service and organization.
  • Formulate and establish technical strategies aligned with business strategies and provide technical leadership to the development organization.
  • Manage agile development aiming for Scrum to achieve a self-sufficient team.
  • Support team members' performance and growth, and adjust resources as necessary.
  • Decompose tasks and assign appropriate members based on individual technical growth.

Technology Stack

  • Backend: Kotlin / Javalin
  • Frontend: React / Recoil
  • Other Technologies: RDS, Docker, Nomad, Terraform, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jira, E2E testing with Cypress

Development Structure

  • Engineers and product managers are organized into teams focused on various feature developments.
  • Approximately 90% of the development team is from overseas, while business-side members are Japanese, necessitating Japanese for business communication.
  • Agile development is practiced with one-week sprints, aiming for Scrum development.

Qualifications

  • Over 3 years of web application development experience.
  • Experience in selecting and using technologies independently.
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud infrastructure and databases.
  • Fluent business communication skills in Japanese with the ability to complete daily tasks in Japanese (e.g., JLPT N1 level or approximately 3 years of work experience in a Japanese environment).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working at a startup.
  • Experience leading development projects.
  • Experience in operating and growing a service.
  • Outstanding achievements in competitive programming (AtCoder: Blue or higher).
  • Experience with modern languages/frameworks (Golang, Java, server-side Kotlin, etc.).
  • Experience in software development using Agile/Scrum.

Salary

  • Annual Salary: 8.04 million yen to 13.08 million yen
  • Monthly Salary: 1/12 of the annual salary
    • Minimum: 670,000 yen (Base pay: 495,680 yen, Fixed overtime pay for 45 hours: 174,320 yen)
    • Maximum: 1.09 million yen (Base pay: 806,470 yen, Fixed overtime pay for 45 hours: 283,530 yen)
  • Overtime pay for work beyond 45 hours will be paid additionally.
  • Salary will be determined based on experience, ability, and preference according to regulations.
  • Possibility of a sign-on bonus.
  • Discretionary labor system applies.
