UI/UX Designer - Job Description

Overview

Seeking a motivated UI/UX Designer with a passion for product design to reshape complex products with intuitive and effective solutions, specifically in the cloud security industry. Fluency in both English and Japanese is required, along with strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

You will focus on projects for a leading cloud-based security provider in Japan, primarily related to enterprise B2B products offering access control, email archiving, and various security functionalities. B2B project experience or interest is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop visually appealing and user-centered designs based on requirements and research findings.
  • Collaborate with product managers and developers on new features and enhancements.
  • Utilize and maintain an established design system for interface consistency.
  • Continuously improve user experience through iterative design and feedback analysis.
  • Advocate for user-centred design principles and contribute to the refinement of the design system.
  • Assist with creating and maintaining design documentation (style guides, principles, user personas).
  • Work with customer support to address feedback and identify improvements.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of UI/UX design experience focused on product design.
  • Proficiency in Figma for collaboration and prototyping.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication in English and Japanese (JLPT N2 or above).
  • Willingness to learn, conduct user interviews, and deepen product design knowledge.
  • Must live, plan to live, or relocate within commuting distance of Tokyo office.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in security-related industries.
  • Experience with design systems.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices.
  • Experience in user research (interviews, surveys, usability testing).

    Note: Office attendance is encouraged; remote/office ratio varies by department.

  • Working Hours: 10:00-19:00 (Flextime; Core time 10:00-15:00, 1hr break)

  • Remuneration: Variable based on experience and skill.
    Examples (not guaranteed):

    • 2 years UI/UX + JLPT N2: 5M–6M JPY
    • 5–6 years B2B SaaS + business-level EN/JP: 6M–7M JPY
      Additional compensation for management experience or English proficiency (0.12M-1.56M JPY/year).

  • Bonus: Twice a year (June & December), ~2.5 months’ salary total (varies by evaluation).

  • Promotion/Raises: Annual assessment (January).

  • Other Benefits:

    • English allowance: JPY 10,000–130,000/month if requirements are met
