• eSquare: Trading platform for online energy buying/selling (licensed under METI).
• eCompass: Market data platform offering energy-related and market information.
• eScan: ETRM (Energy Trading Risk Management System) for visualizing operational risk, tailored to the Japanese power market.
• JCEX: Environmental value marketplace for trading domestic and voluntary carbon credits.

Technical Challenges

• Delivering high security, reliability, and performance on critical infrastructure, in a complex, multi-microservice, real-time environment.
• Communicating with domain experts and understanding the energy business.
• Designing scalable, agile systems.
• Managing and developing a tech organization of 50+ members.
• Enhancing technical branding and hiring efforts.

Responsibilities

As Engineering Manager, you will oversee project, people, and technology management. You may focus on business-oriented or foundational areas, or balance both, according to your preference.

Project Management

• Roadmap planning
• Project progression through Engineering Managers
• Budget planning

People Management

• Conducting 1-on-1s
• Recruiting (workforce planning, execution)
• Performance evaluation

Technology Management

• Various review processes
• Defining technical direction

• Experience developing shared platforms (e.g. SaaS)

Working Conditions

Salary

• ¥10,000,000–¥15,000,000 annual

Location

• Tokyo Office (Minato-ku, Minami-Aoyama 3-11-13 Shinaoyama Tokyu Bldg. 7F)
• Remote work available (in-person required during onboarding)

Work Hours

• Fully flextime system (no core hours, standard 8 hours/day)
