Backend Engineer (DBaaS for OpenSearch) / Private Cloud

Responsibilities

• Development and operation of DBaaS, specifically OpenSearch services
• Performance tuning and cluster management with OpenSearch
• May be reassigned to other duties as needed
• Final responsibilities will be determined upon hire, matching your strengths

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of development experience with Golang or Python
• Hands-on experience with OpenSearch
• Understanding of Kubernetes
• Comfortable with GitOps/SlackOps operational procedures
• Familiar with code reviews, including writing test code
• Strong communicator and collaborator
• Business-level Japanese or Korean proficiency

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Solid understanding of Linux and service operations
• 3+ years managing large-scale systems
• Experience with Operator Pattern

Salary

• Annual: JPY 6,500,000 – JPY 12,000,000
• Monthly: JPY 434,000 – JPY 801,000
  (Includes base salary and fixed overtime allowance)
• Bonuses: Up to 2 times per year, performance-based
• Allowances:
  • Overtime allowance (beyond fixed 35 hours)
  • Commuting allowance (up to JPY 150,000/month)
  • Remote work allowance (JPY 11,000/month)

• Permanent, full-time (no fixed period)
• Includes a 3-month trial period

Work Location

• Kioicho Office (Kioi Tower, 1-3 Kioicho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo)
• Office assignment may change; wheelchair-accessible; smoking rooms available

Work Hours

• Flextime system (standard: 7 hours 45 minutes, no core hours)
• Reference: 9:30 am–6:15 pm standard hours
• Shortened hours available for childcare/caregiving
• Some departments use shift schedules

Holidays and Leave

• Two days off per week (typically Sat/Sun, may vary by dept.), national holidays, New Year (Dec 29–Jan 4)
• Paid leave, special leave (bereavement, maternity, illness, etc.), sabbatical leave
• If a public holiday falls on Saturday, previous business day off
