About the Role

We are seeking individuals with strong expertise in machine learning or computer vision, and a passion for cutting-edge multimodal foundation models. You will work autonomously to analyze large-scale data, understand its characteristics, and propose technical solutions for machine learning and performance evaluation. As a member of the Tokyo-based team, you will contribute to creating AI technologies that support next-generation e-commerce platforms.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop data strategies for collection, sampling, labeling, handling, and utilization of massive datasets to improve the performance of machine learning models.
  • Design and enhance scalable data pipelines and automation for machine learning and performance evaluation.
  • Analyze large-scale data to identify characteristics, propose solutions, and present results internally and externally.
  • Collaborate with researchers, engineers, and business teams to implement advanced technologies for next-generation AI services.

Qualifications

Required Experience/Skills

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in data science or related fields, with theoretical knowledge in machine learning (deep learning, statistical analysis, mathematical modeling, etc.).
  • Proficiency in software development using Python (numpy, scipy, scikit, pandas) and databases.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Familiarity with modern development tools and cloud environments (Git, AWS, GCP).

Preferred Experience/Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in data science or related fields.
  • Experience with large-scale database analysis (petabyte level).
  • Background in building large datasets.
  • Experience managing infrastructure with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Terraform, GitHub Actions, or similar.
  • Business-level Japanese proficiency (reading, writing, listening).

Language

  • Japanese: Independent (CEFR - B2) preferred
  • English: Independent (CEFR – B2)
