Team Mission

  • The Data Science Team’s mission is to maximize user engagement and long-term value (LTV).
  • The team designs and develops advanced models and systems for personalized CRM to elevate user experience.
  • Strategic pillars:
    • Drive independent, high-impact initiatives.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with product and engineering teams to integrate data-driven intelligence throughout the marketplace.
  • Senior Data Scientists lead complex product and technical initiatives, working closely with backend teams, infrastructure specialists, designers, marketers, and product managers.

Work Responsibilities

  • Identify high-impact opportunities and advocate innovative, data-driven, personalized CRM strategies.
  • Design, develop, and deploy advanced statistical and machine learning models, robust evaluation frameworks, and inference pipelines (batch and streaming) with thorough monitoring.
  • Conduct end-to-end data exploration and modeling to resolve complex business bottlenecks and optimize platform performance.
  • Translate technical findings into actionable insights, collaborating closely with stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Partner with leadership on strategic proposals to maximize data science and engineering capabilities.
  • Promote best practices in data analysis, modeling, and code quality management.

Unique Challenges

  • End-to-End Project Ownership:
    Lead the entire project lifecycle from concept and stakeholder alignment to execution and post-launch refinement.
  • Defining New Frontiers:
    Architect solutions in CRM and personalization where blueprints do not exist, combining deep technical expertise with domain intuition to pioneer new industry standards.

Qualifications

Required

  • PhD or MSc in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related quantitative field.
  • 5+ years’ experience using advanced analytics/systems to drive strategic business decisions.
  • Expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning, A/B testing, and causal inference.
  • Collaborative track record with Marketing, Product, and Engineering teams for rapid product iteration.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for influencing executive stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Japanese language proficiency (CEFR – C1 or above).

Preferred

  • Strong ownership and business (P/L) mindset, with proven impact on business KPIs.
  • Relentless execution—ability to deliver high-quality results in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Domain expertise in marketing science or CRM optimization in high-growth technology settings.
  • MLOps experience developing/maintaining production-grade inference pipelines (batch and real-time).
  • Leadership in successfully leading large-scale projects end-to-end.
  • English proficiency (CEFR – B2 or higher recommended).
