
Senior Growth Product Designer
Role Overview
We are seeking a talented Senior Growth Product Designer to elevate our language learning software into a sleeker, more mature product—supercharging our activation and user retention to achieve ambitious growth targets. You will design features that delight users, driving dopamine and understanding while maintaining product utility and an immersive, learner-centric experience.
You should be (or be willing to become) an expert in both beginner and advanced users’ language learning needs, making the complex process of language learning not just easier, but genuinely enjoyable. You'll evolve our product and visual brand as required, actively engaging with our user community to deeply understand their needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design World-Class UI: Create language learning software that stands out for its sleekness, focusing on activation and retention to reach significant user growth goals.
- Balance Usefulness & Scale: Craft interfaces that are highly useful and have a premium feel, while being scalable for a growing userbase.
- Lightweight and Fast Interfaces: Ensure designs feel fast and lightweight, avoiding anything that feels heavy or slow.
- Drive Engagement: Use visual cues and thoughtful information architecture to emotionally hook users at the right moments and move them through the user funnel.
- User-Centric Design: Constantly listen to community feedback and design based on real-world needs and insights.
- Deep Product Understanding: Develop a profound understanding of our product, balancing the needs of both power users and beginners.
- Evolve Brand Design: Enhance our brand as product and brand are tightly connected.
- No Compromise on Engagement: Create immersive, cinematic moments when they matter, and calm, focused UI elsewhere.
- Iterate & Test: Don't hesitate to test ideas with low-fidelity mockups before polishing the best solutions.
- Typography Mastery: Use typography to make dense UIs enjoyable and readable.
- Instinct & Data: Find the right balance between creative intuition and data-driven decision-making.
- Collaboration: Lead and collaborate with other designers and illustrators as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Required: Demonstrated experience designing high-engagement, lightweight software products that have received critical acclaim.
- Required: Deep understanding of what makes copywriting impactful.
- Preferred: Strong grasp of effective branding.
- Bonus: Hardcore language learning experience.
- Bonus: Ability to scout and onboard top creative talent, including designers and illustrators from various platforms.
