Senior Software Engineer - Pikmin Bloom

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical design and implementation of engaging, scalable gameplay systems for a large and active user base.
  • Own cross-platform development across mobile (iOS/Android), ensuring code is reusable, maintainable, and performant across multiple environments.
  • Drive performance optimization and reliability, including profiling, debugging, and troubleshooting complex issues on mobile devices.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, product managers, game designers, and UX designers to deliver high-quality user experiences.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to engineering excellence, including improving development processes, testing practices, and overall code quality.

Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in game development, with strong expertise in Unity and/or other game engines.
  • Proficient working in C# or C++.
  • Embraces generative AI with curiosity and good judgment, using it responsibly to improve tooling, testing, debugging, prototyping, and overall product quality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hybrid environment and handle stress appropriately and/or ability to solve practical problems and be sufficiently adaptable to handle dynamic situations with little advance notice.
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams with ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal communications, including synchronous interactions with others.
  • Japanese language skills (intermediate - Business level)
