Department Overview The Product Development Division at Rakuten Payment, Inc., handles everything from planning, basic and detailed design, coding, testing, to operation of systems related to payment services. In addition, many projects utilizing the latest technologies are underway, aiming to strengthen synergy as part of the Rakuten Group, Inc. We implement and operate large-scale systems that continue to expand and grow, and directly incorporate customer feedback to improve our services. This department is primarily responsible for the database management of payment services provided by Rakuten Payment, Inc. Position: Why We Hire Due to the expansion of our service scale, there is a need to further strengthen our organizational structure and systems. At the same time, we need to advance system architecture refactoring, leading to a plan for increased staffing.   Position Details We are seeking a Database Administrator for a Public Cloud environment. You will be responsible for optimizing our database systems, including migration from On-Premise to Public Cloud and their subsequent operation. As operation of current systems will also be required, candidates with extensive experience in MySQL (MariaDB experience also welcome) are highly desired. Main Responsibilities - Database administration for On-Premise MySQL and MariaDB. - Leading problem-solving initiatives in database administration tasks. - Database administration for Public Cloud environments (AWS Aurora, GCP Spanner).   Mandatory Qualifications: - 5+ years of practical experience in database administration (regardless of DBMS). - Experience in database administration in a Public Cloud environment (AWS Aurora). - 3+ years of practical experience in MySQL operation. - Business level of Japanese *We are looking for candidates with experience in infrastructure management, not application development.   Desired Qualifications: - Experience in migrating systems from On-Premise to a Public Cloud environment. - Experience operating on different platforms such as On-Premise and Public Cloud. - Experience in the operation phase after implementation and construction. - Experience in database operations using Git and IaC (Infrastructure as Code). - Understanding of database security (On-Premise, Public Cloud). - Experience in business improvement utilizing AI. - Practical experience in PostgreSQL operation. - Understanding of multiple DBMS/DB Solutions. - Ability to proactively formulate rules and proposals by engaging stakeholders. - Proactive and self-driven individual with a strong sense of ownership.
