We lead both 0→1 business creation and large-scale cross-group strategic projects, leveraging Rakuten’s broad assets, partnerships, and network. It is a next-generation AI signage solution that uniquely combines loss prevention (anti-shoplifting) and retail media monetization-a “two-in-one” value proposition for retailers. Key Capabilities (3 Core Values) 1. Loss Prevention (Security) AI-powered detection triggers real-time alerts to reduce staff burden and ensure a safe, secure store environment. 2. Optimized Promotion (Enhanced Experience) Leverage viewership data to measure content effectiveness and drive continuous improvement through a data-driven PDCA cycle. 3. Monetization (New Revenue Streams) Transform unused signage space into high-value advertising slots, creating new revenue opportunities for both the store and our business. Position Details Overview You will play a key role in supporting decision-making through data extraction/aggregation, BI and dashboard development, and insightful reporting. Key Responsibilities - Data Analysis: Execute end-to-end data processing, from raw data collection to visualization. - Performance Evaluation: Quantify the impact of initiatives and identify key areas for improvement. - Reporting & BI: Design intuitive, decision-ready outputs and build/optimize BI dashboards. - Strategic Proposals: Leverage cross-functional insights (Security × Retail Media) to provide data-driven solutions for client challenges. - KPI Management: Drive performance optimization by designing, tracking, and iterating on core metrics. Analysis & Insights: Practical Examples Using in-store behavioral and viewership data from "Rakuten Anshin Signage," you will provide multi-faceted analysis and strategic proposals: 1. Optimizing Store Operations (Security & Safety) Data: In-store customer behavioral patterns. Insights: Visualize high-risk locations and time slots to optimize staff allocation and patrol routes, creating a safer store environment. 2. Maximizing Retail Media Effectiveness Data: Content viewership metrics. Insights: Analyze engagement to determine the optimal timing and content for ad delivery, maximizing both advertising revenue and promotional impact. Work Environment - Team size: 12 (high-performing, lean team) - Age range: Mainly 30s-40s - Hiring mix: Mid-career hires only Member backgrounds Manufacturing, retail, global consulting firms, global IT companies, etc. Mandatory Qualifications: - Experience handling large-scale datasets (practical experience in extraction, processing, aggregation, and analysis) - Experience driving work from analysis to improvement planning and execution (not stopping at insights) - Strong logical problem-solving skills (issue definition → hypothesis → validation → conclusion) - Strong communication and stakeholder management skills (internal/external coordination and alignment) - Able to perform quantitative analysis based on data - Able to interpret results by taking qualitative information into account as appropriate - Analytical skills across quantitative + qualitative approaches - Strong documentation and presentation skills (clear, visually effective materials for decision-makers) Desired Qualifications: - Advanced ability to interpret data and translate insights into proposals - Hands-on experience with BI/analytics tools such as SQL, DOMO, Tableau, Python, etc. (one or more) Other Information: Additional information on Location Rakuten Crimson House 1-14-1 Tamagawa, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, Japan Additional information on English Qualification TOEIC score of 800 or higher (or proof of a qualification demonstrating equivalent English proficiency, or proof of a bachelor’s degree or higher from an English-speaking country) Proof of qualification must be provided by the time the job offer is issued.
