Department Overview With the strength of the Rakuten Point market, which has surpassed 4 trillion yen in total issuance, we are building the "Rakuten Economic Circle" through service collaboration with Rakuten Group companies and the introduction of cashless settlement services in real stores, which are growing at an accelerated pace. Our settlement services can be used at approximately 5 million online and offline locations, including supermarkets, convenience stores, and shopping malls nationwide, as well as at approximately 1 million locations where traffic-related e-money can be used, and the number of locations where this service can be used is continuing to expand. This Product Development Division handles everything from system service planning related to payment services, planning and implementation related to UI/UX, basic and detailed system design, coding, testing, and operation. As the service expands, you will be able to experience the planning, development, and operation of a very large-scale system. Team Culture We are a full-stack operations team where development, infrastructure, SRE, and service operations work closely together. Position: Why We Hire The transaction volume and number of partner stores for our loyalty card service continue to grow, and as a result, the demands on the reliability and scalability of our system infrastructure are increasing. To balance the need for faster development with the need to ensure system stability, our current team is pursuing several strategic initiatives, including enhancing CI/CD, establishing an observability infrastructure, and optimizing cloud costs. To accelerate these initiatives, we are seeking to expand our team of DevOps engineers at our Fukuoka office. Position Details Depending on your start date and the status of the project, you will be assigned one of the following tasks. Maintenance and Development Support - Minor development tasks such as adding features and fixing bugs - Researching end-of-life (EOL) status for middleware, libraries, and operating systems, and handling planned version upgrades - Adaptive maintenance to accommodate changes in the external environment (e.g., changes to cloud service specifications, API deprecation, etc.) - Preventive maintenance aimed at preventing outages and resolving technical debt (refactoring, strengthening redundancy, reviewing configurations, etc.) Operational Improvement and Project Promotion - Identifying operational challenges and planning, coordinating, and driving improvement initiatives as projects - Planning and executing operational optimization plans (automation, process standardization, cost reduction, etc.) AI Utilization and AI-nization Promotion - Streamlining development and operations processes using AI tools (code generation, document automation, etc.) - Disseminating AI utilization knowledge within the team and establishing best practices CI/CD and Observability - Designing, improving, and promoting the automation of CI/CD pipelines - Building and improving monitoring infrastructure using Grafana - Designing SLIs/SLOs, managing error budgets, and leading incident response and post-mortems Work Environment The group has 7 members (as of January 2026). Proportion of Employee and Partner Staff is 2:5 English is used in global team collaboration. This position is a senior role responsible for mentoring Goal Managers and driving organization-wide improvement.
