Job Description: Department Overview ID Service is part of Technology Platforms Division (TPD) and focuses on Customer Identity & Access Management (CIAM) with the mission to provide a scalable, reliable, secure, and easy-to-integrate platform for our 2 billion users. The Identity Management Group, a part of ID Platform Section drives digital transformation by modernizing the Rakuten ID platform with a brand new UI including features such as password-less authentication, adaptive risk-based multi-factor authentication, verifiable digital credentials, progressive profiling, and consent management. Position Details As an experienced Product Manager, you will play a crucial role in defining and delivering our product vision. You will be responsible for managing the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and planning to launch and ongoing optimization. You will work closely with various stakeholders, to define and execute the product strategy. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of customer needs & technical product dependencies, ecosystem dynamics, and a passion for building innovative and user-centric products. Responsibilities - Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap based on market research, customer feedback, and business goals - Conduct market analysis to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape - Prioritize and manage the product backlog making data-driven decisions, ensuring that features and enhancements align with the product vision and strategy - Gather and analyze user feedback, conduct user testing, and iterate on the product to improve user experience and drive customer satisfaction - Collaborate with the development team throughout the product development lifecycle, providing guidance and clarifications on requirements - Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics to evaluate product performance and identify areas for improvement - Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and manage expectations - Lead product discovery - Be responsible to define user/client journey - Review technical designs to verify that all feature requirements and select based on evaluation criteria - Drive release management by preparing release requests and working with the release manager to review QA test results, security audit results, and deployment schedules - Be responsible for product outcomes and end-to-end delivery Mandatory Qualifications: - Prior experience in IAM area or working knowledge of IAM standards, security & privacy standards - Bachelor Degree (BS) in Engineering, Economics, Business, or related field - 5+ years of product management experience - Experience in Agile projects - Experience in KPI-driven service development - Excellent written and oral communication skills both in English and the ability to communicate with clarity and confidence at all levels; adapt style and content to the needs of the audience Desired Qualifications: - Experience in working in cross-cultural development teams - Experience with management tools, e.g. JIRA/Confluence - Proven record in delivering a winning product from scratch - Programming experience or technical background - Fluency in Japanese will be an added advantage #engineer #productmanager #technologyplatformdiv Languages: English (Overall - 3 - Advanced), Japanese (Overall - 4 - Fluent) In Japanese, Rakuten stands for ‘optimism.’ It means we believe in the future.
