RakutenJob Description: Department Overview The Ad Product Development Department and Product Management Section are primarily responsible for the planning, development, and operation of advertising products for stores, facilities, major companies operating domestically and internationally, and foreign-affiliated companies within Rakuten Group's advertising business. You will gain experience in developing environments and supporting operations in large-scale system development while collaborating with business stakeholders and development teams from other platforms. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to work with diverse members from bases not only in Japan but also in Singapore, India, and China, and to be exposed to various system development, maintenance, and operational methods and ideas. The team manages several Affiliate Service Providers (ASPs) utilized within the Rakuten Group. Through close collaboration with the engineering and business teams, the Affiliate Product Group focus on delivering user-focused products that support both client success and business growth. Our ASPs have a strong market presence and are trusted by advertisers and publishers including influencers and media partners. By delivering impactful products that foster meaningful connections and broaden economic participation, we aim to contribute positively to the business and to society. Position: Why We Hire The team is looking for a Product Manager to take ownership of one of our top Affiliate Service Providers (ASPs). The platform operates across multiple countries and is recognized as one of the top ASP in Japan. You will guide platform direction and delivery, staying current with emerging technology trends and the ASP development roadmap. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams overseas and business leads in Japan, aligning product decisions with market practices and client contract models to drive growth. Position Details Overview Overall duties supporting the operation of ASPs developed at multiple overseas locations for our business in Japan. Main Duties - Considering whether to introduce new ASP features to the Japanese network and prioritizing their implementation. - Considering Japanese localization and customization during feature implementation (including translation of wording and creation of test plans in collaboration with test engineers). - Mediating communication (liaison) between multiple overseas development centers and Japanese business stakeholders. Communication with overseas development centers (mainly in the US and UK) will be primarily in English, while communication with domestic business stakeholders will be entirely in Japanese. Additionally, since communication with both development and business teams is required, a minimum level of knowledge relat- ed to the industry and system development is necessary. As multiple projects run concurrently, each individual is expected to take initiative and proceed with projects with a certain degree of discretion. Work Environment 10+ members from 5 different countries belong to our group. Most of the members are based in Tokyo, Japan. Both new grads and mid-career are performing very good in our group.
