Job Description: Business Overview AI & Data Division: An organization that develops and operates the AI and data infrastructure of the Rakuten Group. Department Overview Search Department: An organization that develops and operates the common search engine platform (GSP) of Rakuten Group. Search Engineering Section: An organization of engineering within the Search Department responsible for design, development, and operation. Search Service Engineering Group: An organization that adapts service systems to GSP when each service development team develops a system. Position: Why We Hire We are recruiting members to meet needs such as expanding the search platform’s capabilities and scope of use, and optimizing costs. Position Details We are seeking a mid to senior level engineer capable of independently leading the following: - Eliciting requirements from internal tech clients and translating them into feasible designs using GSP Schema, Query, and Processing Logic - Reviewing and consulting on schema and query design, and implementing changes as required - Designing, developing, and operating web applications and data synchronizer batches that support GSP - Responding to incidents and inquiries and implementing preventive improvements Work Environment The team is about 10 members, mainly engineers, with ages ranging from the 20s to the 50s. The gender ratio is roughly even, and the team currently consists mostly of Japanese members. New graduates and mid-career hires, as well as full-time and contract staff, work together on the team.
