Job Description: Business Overview The Technology Management Division (TMD) provides Corporate IT, and Cyber Security & Privacy Governance to Rakuten Group companies and essential business management for technology organizations, thereby enabling innovation and strengthening the technology foundation. Within TMD, the Corporate IT Supervisory Department (CITD) drives Rakuten Group’s global corporate IT services and infrastructure. Department Overview The Corporate IT Infrastructure Department (CITID) provides the stable and reliable technological foundation that supports Rakuten's global business operations. We deliver simple, secure, and robust infrastructure services with operational and engineering excellence, managing core infrastructure, enterprise collaboration platforms, development support tools and project management. Position: Why We Hire As Rakuten Group continues its rapid global expansion, we are modernizing our network architecture to embrace a "Cloud-First" and "Zero Trust" network model. We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to support this transformation and ensure our global corporate network infrastructure remains agile, secure and highly available.   Position Details You'll join a global team and will have a lot of chances to work for global projects as well as domestic projects. Your responsibilities will include: ・Design, verification, construction, operation and user support for overall network infrastructure, including Zero Trust network, wired/wireless LAN, Data Center and cloud network, WAN, remote access, authentication, firewall and load balancer. ・Propose and engage in selection process for new technology/product/design. ・Work for various projects with domestic or global infrastructure team. ・Mentor junior engineers, share troubleshooting/design best practices, and lead technical initiatives from conception through completion. ・Develop and maintain network architecture documentation, standards, best practices, configurations, procedures and diagrams. ・Act as the SME for complex network incidents : perform root cause analysis, implement fixes and proactively address performance bottlenecks and capacity constraints. ・Drive the transition from manual configuration to Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) Mandatory Qualifications: ・Expert level skill with minimum 6 years of experience in at least five of the following products/technologies: 1.Core network routing (OSPF, BGP, VRF) 2. Data Center and branch office switching (Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, HPE) 3. Zero Trust Network (ZScaler : ZIA, ZPA, ZCC, ZDX) 4. Wireless LAN (Mist/Cisco) 5. NGFW Firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortigate, IDS/IPS, URL Filtering) 6. Public cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) 7. SDWAN (EdgeConnect, Fortinet, etc.) 8. Site-to-Site VPN (IPsec, DMVPN) 9. Network Authentication (Cisco ISE, 802.1x, RADIUS, TACACS+) 10. AIOps 11. Network monitoring and logging (SNMP, Netflow, ADX) 12. Network automation and orchestration ・Negotiation and troubleshooting experience with vendors/telecommunication carriers ・Strong analytical, communication, problem solving and documentation skills ・Strong interest with new network technologies ・ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering ・Professional level of certification from vendors (Cisco, ZScaler, Juniper, PaloAlto, Fortinet, HPE) ・Strong stakeholder management skills and communication skills Desired Qualifications: ・More than 10 years of network experience ・Experience with enterprise level network with over 100 locations and 5 Data Centers ・Zero Trust Network deployment experience with ZScaler ・Depth knowledge and experience in network securities (IDS, IPS, URL Filtering, etc.) ・Knowledge in Active Directory, Windows/MacOS/Linux ・Project Management experience Other Information: Additional information on English Qualification English : Business level (TOEIC 800 or higher) or Native Japanese : At least conversational level is preferred #engineer #infrastructureengineer #technologymanagementdiv In Japanese, Rakuten stands for ‘optimism.’ It means we believe in the future.
