We aim at growing globally and becoming world leaders through innovation and technology. In order to achieve this, we are now looking for globally minded engineers to contribute to the development of our services. Position Details We are looking for an experienced full-stack site reliability engineer who has a passion for working on complex/large systems and understands the importance of maintaining and supporting one. You will be joining one of our teams of diversely skilled engineers who actively support the maintenance of existing Rakuten system related to lifestyle and leisure related services. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to Design & Develop features on small to large scale systems Handle operations like releases to Production environments Learn about and perform load/performance tests on high access systems Interact and work with members from other development teams, Product Managers, UX/UI designers and QA engineers A commitment to team collaboration, good communication and resilient system design and maintenance is important. Work Environment Young members in their late 20s to early 30s, from various countries and different cultural backgrounds. Mandatory Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering Proven experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines for multiple developer teams Strong hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) Deep knowledge of Kubernetes including manifests, Helm Charts, and production troubleshooting Strong scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash, Go, or similar languages Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, or similar) Experience with monitoring and observability platforms (LGTM Stack, ELK Stack, DataDog, New Relic, etc.) Solid understanding of distributed system architecture, and networking fundamentals (OSI model) Track record of collaborating with development teams to improve productivity Growth-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving and proactive troubleshooting abilities Desired Qualifications: 2+ years of software development experience Deep understanding of GitOps practices and tools (Argo CD, Argo Workflows) Kubernetes or cloud certifications (CKA, CKAD, etc) Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio, etc.) Experience building or using Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs) Other Information: Additional information on English Qualification Proficient in English, native level or TOEIC (or equivalent) score 800+ Language: English and/or Japanese #engineer #infrastructureengineer #commerce #SRE #RakutenGORA #RakutenBeauty #DREAMBusiness In Japanese, Rakuten stands for ‘optimism.’ It means we believe in the future.
