Research Engineer / Research Scientist (Automated Agent)

Key Responsibilities

• Research and development on fine-tuning large foundation models
• Research and development on meta AI agents that leverage large foundation models
• Conduct literature reviews, evaluate existing methods, and write research papers

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong motivation and knowledge in the relevant research areas
• Deep understanding of autonomous agents using deep learning, deep reinforcement learning, or hierarchical reinforcement learning
• Excellent coding skills, with proficiency in Python (required)
• Experience in collaborative software development using platforms such as GitHub
• Master’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience as the first author of papers presented at top-tier international conferences in machine learning (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR)
• Experience as the first author of papers presented at other top-tier international conferences (e.g., ACL, EMNLP, NAACL, CVPR, ECCV)
• Experience reading and reproducing research papers, and improving upon existing algorithms
• Experience working in distributed or parallel computing environments
• Track record of winning medals in data science competitions such as Kaggle
• Experience in developing web applications
• Ph.D. in computer science or a related field, or equivalent research experience

Working Hours

• Flexible work: Available
• Standard hours: 9:00 AM – 5:45 PM
• Break: 1 hour
• Overtime: Required as needed

Salary and Bonuses

• Monthly Salary: ¥541,667 – ¥1,500,000
• Estimated Annual Salary: ¥6,500,000 – ¥18,000,000
  The upper limit is not guaranteed.
  Monthly and estimated annual salaries include base pay plus fixed overtime allowance (equivalent to 35 hours).
  Overtime pay applies only to non-managerial positions and will be paid additionally if actual overtime exceeds the fixed 35 hours.
  Incentives may be provided separately.

Allowances

• Commuting allowance: Up to ¥150,000 per month
• Non-managerial employees: Eligible for overtime, night shifts, holiday work, and commuting allowances
• Managerial employees: Eligible for management, night shift, and commuting allowances

Holidays and Leave

• Regular holidays: Two days off per week (Saturday and Sunday), national holidays
• Year-end and New Year holidays: December 29 – January 3
• Other company-designated holidays
• Annual paid leave: 6–21 days (number of days granted varies depending on the month of joining)
