Job Description: Research Engineer / Research Scientist (Creative Vision)

Key Responsibilities

• Train foundational image, video, and multimodal generation models, ensuring advanced performance and scalability.
• Translate cutting-edge research into practical solutions by investigating downstream applications that enhance the model’s business value and deliver actionable insights directly to the product team.
• Disseminate research findings at premier international conferences, showcasing work to the global research community and building connections with leading experts.

Required Skills and Experience

• Research Scientist role: First-author publications on visual or multimodal generation (or related topics) in prestigious conferences and journals (e.g., ICCV, CVPR, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ECCV, ACL, TPAMI, IJCV, or equivalent).
• Research Engineer role: Hands-on experience in (large-scale) generative model training or fine-tuning.
• Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. Strong background in computer science and data science principles.
• Proven research or industrial experience in visual and/or multimodal generation.
• Collaborative team player.
• Proficiency in PyTorch or similar deep learning frameworks for model training/fine-tuning.
• Solid understanding of recent visual generative models (e.g., diffusion, flow matching, autoregressive) and experience training/finetuning such models.
• Self-motivated, passionate about continuous learning and staying current with new technologies.
• Willingness to engage in industrial research focused on practical real-world solutions, rather than purely academic publications.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• For research engineer role: Experience with large-scale training using FSDP, Deepspeed, Megatron-LM, etc., as well as low precision training and model parallelism.
• Contributions to open-source AI projects, or notable GitHub projects in visual/multimodal generation with significant recognition.
• Knowledge of machine learning techniques for data collection, cleaning, and preprocessing.
• Experience managing data beyond visual modality (e.g., audio, speech, language).

Mission

• Research Scientist: Focus on designing, implementing, and evaluating novel algorithms, models, and techniques for visual and multimodal generation.
• Research Engineer: Implementation and optimization; translating research concepts into practical implementations by developing and optimizing multimodal AI models, and building robust data pipelines for training and evaluation.

Working Hours

• Flexible work: Available
• Standard hours: 9:00 AM – 5:45 PM
• Break: 1 hour
• Overtime: Required as needed

Salary and Bonuses

• Monthly Salary: ¥541,667 – ¥1,500,000
• Estimated Annual Salary: ¥6,500,000 – ¥18,000,000
  • The upper limit is not guaranteed.
  • Monthly and annual salary figures include base pay plus fixed overtime allowance (equivalent to 35 hours).
  • Overtime pay applies only to non-managerial positions and is paid additionally if actual overtime exceeds 35 hours.
  • Incentives may be provided separately.

Allowances

• Commuting allowance: up to ¥150,000 per month
• Non-managerial employees: eligible for overtime, night shifts, holiday work, and commuting allowances
• Managerial employees: eligible for management, night shift, and commuting allowances

Holidays and Leave

• Two regular days off per week (Saturday and Sunday), plus national holidays
• Year-end and New Year holidays: December 29 – January 3
• Other company-designated holidays
• Annual paid leave: 6–21 days (number of days varies depending on hiring date)
