Job Description: Research Engineer・Research Scientist (Human-Computer Interaction)

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate interactive systems utilizing generative AI models
• Conduct proof-of-concept experiments and apply the developed systems to business use
• Contribute to in-house products as an HCI expert

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong motivation and knowledge in the field of HCI × Generative AI
• Expertise in one or more of the following areas: HCI, front-end development, back-end development, system operations, computer graphics, computer vision, or machine learning
• Excellent coding skills, with proficiency in Python (required)
• Master’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Skills and Experience

Research Engineer

• Continuous participation and contribution to open-source community development
• Experience developing and operating systems as part of a team, from proof-of-concept to production deployment
• Experience presenting at international conferences in the field of HCI

Research Scientist

• Experience presenting papers at top international conferences in HCI, computer vision, machine learning, or multimedia
• Experience in collaborative software development using platforms such as GitHub
• Ph.D. in computer science or a related field

Mission

• Conduct research and development on interactive systems utilizing foundation models, such as large-scale language models and vision-language models
• Perform research and prototyping to solve problems through generative AI products
• Conduct user studies to evaluate generative AI products
• Develop proof-of-concept systems for empirical experiments
• Apply research outcomes to business, while leading the industry in HCI × Generative AI through papers, patents, and external presentations

Working Hours

• Flexible work: Available
• Standard hours: 9:00 AM – 5:45 PM
• Break: 1 hour

Salary and Bonuses

• Monthly Salary: ¥541,667 – ¥1,500,000
• Estimated Annual Salary: ¥6,500,000 – ¥18,000,000
  • The upper limit is not guaranteed.
  • Monthly and estimated annual salaries include base pay plus fixed overtime allowance (equivalent to 35 hours).
  • Overtime pay applies only to non-managerial positions and is paid if actual overtime exceeds the fixed 35 hours.
  • Incentives may be provided separately.

Allowances

• Commuting allowance: Up to ¥150,000 per month
• Non-managerial employees: Eligible for overtime, night shifts, holiday work, and commuting allowances
• Managerial employees: Eligible for management, night shift, and commuting allowances

Holidays and Leave

• Regular holidays: Two days off per week (Saturday and Sunday), national holidays
• Year-end and New Year holidays: December 29 – January 3
• Other company-designated holidays
• Annual paid leave: 6–21 days (number of days granted varies depending on the month of joining)
