Job Description: Research Engineer・Research Scientist (Robotics/Embodied AI)

Key Responsibilities

  • Build large-scale foundation models for robotics and the underlying data infrastructure.
  • Conduct literature reviews, evaluate existing methods, and write research papers.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong motivation and knowledge in the relevant research areas.
  • Deep understanding and experience in robot learning (e.g., imitation learning, reinforcement learning).
  • Experience in building robotic systems and programming robots.
  • Excellent coding skills (Python is mandatory).
  • Experience in collaborative software development using platforms such as GitHub.
  • Master’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience publishing as the first author in top-tier international robotics conferences and journals (e.g., ICRA, IROS, CoRL, RAL, RSS, TRO, IJRR).
  • Experience publishing as the first author in other top-tier international conferences (e.g., ACL, EMNLP, NAACL, CVPR, ECCV).
  • Experience reading, implementing, and reproducing results from cutting-edge research papers.
  • Experience working with distributed or parallel computing environments.
  • Ability to independently create simple hardware components (e.g., 3D printing robot fingers, using microcontrollers to acquire sensor data).
  • A keen interest in building robust software, with research-level experience in static analysis and unit/integration testing.
  • Experience in software development with an awareness of computational constraints (CPU core count, RAM, VRAM, storage).
  • Ph.D. in computer science or a related field, or equivalent research experience.

Working Conditions

Working Hours

  • Flexible work: Available
  • Standard hours: 9:00 AM – 5:45 PM
  • Break: 1 hour
  • Overtime: Required as needed

Salary and Bonuses

  • Monthly Salary: ¥541,667 – ¥1,500,000
  • Estimated Annual Salary: ¥6,500,000 – ¥18,000,000
    Note: The upper limit is not guaranteed. Salaries include base pay plus fixed overtime allowance (equivalent to 35 hours). Overtime pay for non-managerial positions is paid additionally if actual overtime exceeds 35 hours. Incentives may be provided separately.

Allowances

  • Commuting allowance: Up to ¥150,000 per month
  • Non-managerial employees: Eligible for overtime, night shifts, holiday work, and commuting allowances
  • Managerial employees: Eligible for management, night shift, and commuting allowances

Holidays and Leave

  • Regular holidays: Two days off per week (Saturday and Sunday), national holidays
  • Year-end and New Year holidays: December 29 – January 3
  • Other company-designated holidays
  • Annual paid leave: 6–21 days (varies by month of joining)
