Research Engineer / Research Scientist (Vision-Language Model)

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research and development on Large Vision Language Models (VLMMs)
• Build development infrastructure for Large Vision Language Models
• Design benchmarks to evaluate Large Vision Language Models
• Perform data engineering tasks and build data infrastructure
• Publish research outcomes through academic papers

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience with team development using software development platforms (e.g., GitHub)
• Experience developing machine learning models in distributed computing environments (e.g., Megatron-LM, PyTorch)
• Master’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Ability to read, reproduce, and modify research papers and existing algorithms

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience in research and development of Large Vision Language Models
• Ph.D. in computer science or a related field
• Experience as a project leader or sub-leader
• Experience building DevOps/MLOps environments
• Experience designing evaluation benchmarks
• Record of papers accepted at top conferences or journals in computer science

Working Hours

• Flexible work arrangements available
• Standard hours: 9:00 AM – 5:45 PM
• Break: 1 hour
• Overtime: Required as needed

Salary and Bonuses

• Monthly Salary: ¥541,667 – ¥1,500,000
• Estimated Annual Salary: ¥6,500,000 – ¥18,000,000
  Note: The upper limit is not guaranteed. Monthly and estimated annual salaries include base pay plus fixed overtime allowance (equivalent to 35 hours). Overtime pay applies only to non-managerial positions and will be paid additionally if actual overtime exceeds the fixed 35 hours. Incentives may be provided separately.

Allowances

• Commuting allowance: up to ¥150,000 per month
• Non-managerial: eligible for overtime, night shifts, holiday work, and commuting allowances
• Managerial: eligible for management, night shift, and commuting allowances

Holidays and Leave

• Regular holidays: Two days off per week (Saturday and Sunday), national holidays
• Year-end and New Year holidays: December 29 – January 3
• Other company-designated holidays
• Annual paid leave: 6–21 days (varies by month of joining)
